Martin Delhey, IIBS Research Fellow for the period January – March 2006, is at present attached to the Department of the Culture and History of India and Tibet at the University of Hamburg, where he is preoccupied with a research project on suicide in Buddhism funded by the German Research Council. He passed his PhD examinations in September 2002 at the University of Hamburg. His PhD thesis deals with a chapter on deep meditative concentration of the Yogacarabhumi and contains a critical edition, a partial translation and an analysis of the hitherto unpublished Sanskrit text.
